August Bank Holiday Steaming Weekend at Crofton Beam Engines

Crofton Pumping Station runs its two Cornish beam engines in steam over the August bank holiday weekend, 10am to 4.30pm each day. The 1812 Boulton and Watt engine is the oldest working beam engine in the world still in its original building and doing its original job, pumping water to the summit of the Kennet and Avon Canal.
