Autumn Steam Gala at Didcot Railway Centre

Autumn Steam Gala at Didcot Railway Centre has finished for 2026. It ran Fri 11 – Sun 13 Sep 2026 at Didcot Railway Centre, Oxfordshire.

Events like this are usually annual. We have not yet had next year's date confirmed by Great Western Society — once it is, we will update this page and add it back to railway events. Get the weekly email and you will hear about it as soon as it lands.

The Great Western Society's annual steam gala takes a Victorian theme, starring visiting Great Eastern Railway 0-4-0 saddle tank No 229, the Coffee Pot, built by Neilson in Glasgow in 1876 and on loan from The Flour Mill. Steam trains run on both demonstration lines with autotrain workings, freight and shunting demonstrations, plus the signal box, turntable and coal stage in action.
