Final Pumping Days of 2026 at Claverton Pumping Station

Claverton Pumping Station, designed by John Rennie and opened in 1813, lifts water from the River Avon into the Kennet and Avon Canal using pumps driven by a huge waterwheel. The last two in-action open days of the 2026 season run on Saturday 12 September and Saturday 10 October, 10am to 5pm, with the machinery running subject to river conditions.
