Vintage Excavator Trust Autumn Working Weekend at Threlkeld Quarry

Vintage Excavator Trust Autumn Working Weekend at Threlkeld Quarry has finished for 2026. It ran Sat 19 – Sun 20 Sep 2026 at Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum, Cumbria.

Events like this are usually annual. We have not yet had next year's date confirmed by Vintage Excavator Trust with Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum — once it is, we will update this page and add it back to plant & digger events. Get the weekly email and you will hear about it as soon as it lands.

The Vintage Excavator Trust holds its autumn demonstration working weekend in the quarry, with a selection of machines from its 80-strong collection digging for real. The collection includes the 1909 Ruston Proctor No. 306 steam navvy, the oldest working excavator in the world, alongside Ruston Bucyrus 10-RB and 19-RB cable machines.
